Creatives should turn away now – the G3 15 is not for you. But if you fancy a gaming laptop that costs less than a grand, this is the one to plump for. Verdict

The G3 15 scored a rough 3.5 out of 11 on the SteamVR performance test, which matches the marks from the MSI 7REX and the Legion Y520 but is crushed by the 6.6 category average. The TUF Gaming FX504 scored even lower, with 2.7. While you can theoretically use an Oculus Rift with the G3 15 thanks to Oculus' Asynchronous Spacewarp technology, it's probably not a good idea.
