Kanao wears a slightly purple-tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, just with a knee-length pleated skirt in place of the usual tattsuke-hakama pants. Over this, she wears a short white cloak, fastened on one side by a dark pink triple knot, also sporting knee-high lace-up white boots with tan soles, heels and toes.The dark and mature underlying themes of the manga are often contested by its comical and child-friendly characters like the role-model lead, Tanjiro Kamado, or cowardly but endearing Zenitsu Agatsuma. Young readers will find themselves laughing hysterically at the latter along with the head-charging “boar,” Inosuke Hashibira. Mature readers will still be enthralled by the team’s adventurous motives leading them to explore the fantasy world filled with Japanese lore and mythology before vanquishing foes and protecting the human race. These reservations are valid. And, after having read multiple issues of the Demon Slayermanga, my opinion regarding the art remains more-or-less the same.
