High functionality and easy operationOne major issue with cheaper robot mops is that they can’t discern carpets from hard flooring so they will simply carry on mopping no matter what the surface. This one doesn’t do that because it raises its mops by 12mm whenever its sensor and camera detect carpet or rugs. The upshot is that you can just leave it to do its thing safe in the knowledge that it will always avoid mopping any rugs or sections of carpet, as long as the carpet in question isn't too deep. The eufy X9 Pro can be used on a higher suction setting to vacuum hard floors effectively. If you choose to deploy the machine’s Twin-Turbo Powered Mop Master system, the bot will change the pressure according to the floor surface, ridding the floor of dirt and tough stains. Once mopping is completed, the mop is automatically raised 12mm to keep the carpets dry while vacuuming. On the downside, the base unit is rather heavy and large (which isn’t surprising as there are two water tanks inside) and the bin isn’t self-emptying. However, in exchange for the overall labour-saving service provided by the X9 Pro, the occasional trip to the bin is no real hardship. Key specs I have to warn you: You will forget that you have a dirty water tank in there. You need to take it out and rinse it and let it dry every other day or so. Otherwise, it will smell. The smell will be awful. To navigate its surroundings efficiently and safely, the Clean X9 Pro is equipped with 3D Time of Flight sensors and an AI camera. This vacuum is Eufy’s top-of-the-line model, and the price reflects that; but for the money you get impressive dual rotating mops, an auto-cleaning base station, AI mapping, and 5,500Pa suction. However, the mopping features come at the cost of a self-emptying dust box, something that many robovacs in a similar price category include. The dust container of the automatic cleaning station has a capacity of 410ml, allowing it to collect a significant amount of dust and debris before requiring emptying. Additionally, the Clean X9 Pro is equipped with a separate dirty water tank. This tank is specifically designed for the mop attachment and holds the dirty water generated during the mopping process. With separate containers for dust and dirty water, the Clean X9 Pro ensures hygienic and efficient cleaning performance. Product Features I’ve already mentioned my own personal disappointment at the X9 Pro not having a self bin-emptying facility but for many this probably won’t be an issue. All you need to know is that the X9 Pro is a sterling operator when it comes to vacuuming, as long as the carpet isn't too deep – a case in point with every robot vac I've ever tested. Overall, there are no standout settings on the Eufy X9 Pro’s app, but neither is it missing any important features. Most should be able to navigate the app with relative ease having used it a few times. The Clean X9 Pro also comes with a mop attachment for simultaneous mopping. This attachment features self-cleaning capabilities, ensuring that the mop remains clean and effective throughout the cleaning process. The auto-lift function is another innovative feature that protects the floor from potential damage. When encountering obstacles such as raised carpets, the mop attachment is automatically lifted by up to 1.35 centimeters to prevent any accidental damage or entanglement.If you, too, have normal and not-office carpeting, you have a couple of options. For example, you can set your carpet cleaning mode in the app to wash and dry your carpet, just as you would mop a hardwood floor. You can also take off the mopping pads manually, although the Velcro surface will also attract schmutz. I ended up toggling on a routine where I set Bun Bun to vacuum only the whole house, which took about 90 minutes to clean 800 square feet, and then an additional job of mopping the hardwood and tiled floors, which took another 30 minutes.
