I like that none of the cat characters in this early grade graphic novel are really evil, and that there’s gentle humor and wordplay that make it fun to read. Early graders who crave feline-centric fiction will really enjoy this, and there’s plenty of cat humor to laugh over. The world-building of this medieval-like land of cats is easy to understand, partly in thanks to the great map of the islands of Pawdor at the beginning. A bright cheerful color palette anchored in purple and green telegraphs that this is not a tale of death and gloom, but rather a fun adventure with swords and dragons and magic. Well, with a title like Kittyquest, who would thing it was anything else?! It’s a delightful read with more adventures expected. Successful persuasion requires at least 60 points of Cunning without the Coercion skill or 1 point in Coercion and 35 points of Cunning or 2 points in Coercion. You left Kitty and Amalia without making a decision and told Matthias she is dead (this requires a high Persuasion score). Mega Robot Bros is a long-running comic strip in The Phoenix, written and illustrated by Neill Cameron. There are three spin-off graphic novels, which are wildly popular in the school library, so we were delighted to see mega-powerful Freddy appear in a more traditional novel form too!
