About this deal

This Christmas game is great because it really doesn’t take a lot of prep work. Print out the Pin the Nose on Rudolph game and cut out the little red noses. These are what you’re going to “pin” on Rudolph’s face. Make sure you’ve got some tape on hand to stink your noses to Rudolph’s face. You’ll also want to make sure you’ve got a clear open space. Blindfolds will also be helpful unless you can trust your players to keep their eyes closed. I decided to go for a REALLY BIG Rudolph, as big as possible! Teehee. In retrospect maybe a smaller is better so it is harder to pin the nose??!? Ha. I don’t know. I think this large one is super cute.. great for younger kids AND can also double up as a lovely seasonal decoration! My kids are so excited about this… The programmer can use a pen and paper to write down specific steps to lead the robot to the wall to pin the nose on Rudolph. If you’d like to grab a template to write your code, you can grab a free worksheet from a similar unplugged coding activity. Make sure that the blindfold is on the robot, so that they cannot see the obstacles. This unplugged coding activity uses those steps to define what an algorithm is and then watch their algorithm run while communicating their steps to a teammate who follows them.

Print and hang Pin the Nose on Rudolph Game Board at an appropriate level on a wall. Make sure that there is at least 5-10ft of space to set up obstacles. The more obstacles you add the harder the code is to write. Ask for biscuit donations from a local supermarket or encourage volunteers to bake a few batches in Christmassy shapes. Offer children icing sugar and colourful icing in squeezy bottles to prevent it from drying out, and let them be as creative as they wish. Let them finish their masterpieces with a selection of mini-sweets and sprinkles in small bowls. Choco cards Tinsel (we haven’t added any (yet) but I think some tinsel around the outside would be super lovely too!)

Another fantastic festive game that you might want to take a look at is this Christmas Board Game! It’s another brilliant game to play with your friends and family. Pin the Tail on the Donkey is a classic childhood game where you are blindfolded and then have to attach the donkey’s tail in the correct place. I remember playing it at parties when I was a kid. Showing my age I’m sure!

Incorporate a Hanukkah tradition by spinning a dreidel; the player with the highest resulting letter goes first. Set the Stage: Find a clear open space on a wall to hang Rudolph. Keep the height in consideration depending on the age of the players; lower for little ones and higher for the older kids. The non-blindfolded team member is the Programmer. The programmer is responsible for giving the blindfolded team member commands to produce actions. Rudolph wasn’t one of the first reindeer named in the 1823 poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas' (aka `'Twas the Night Before Christmas').Offering prizes can add an extra layer of excitement to the game. Here are some prize ideas that would be suitable for kids and maintain the festive spirit: Great for digital scrapbooking, Christmas party decorations or your next Christmas themed party game.
