There’s rarely a quiet moment in the film and even when the action stops to have a nice conversation in an apartment, there’s plenty of background and activity to keep those channels running for a fully-immersive near-demo-worthy presence. Fate (Kent Nelson) and others with the Justice Society of America must do everything they can to stop him from unleashing his powers on the world. Also, even though this is a superhero film – it is based on DC’s characters, and not Marvel – therefore we’re not likely to see it on Disney+. With all the recent hoopla, the biggest shame of the film is that if we ever see Johnson as Black Adam again, it won’t likely be any time soon, and then apparently as of the rumors and reporting coming out today (12/21/22), not a part of the Gunn/Safran-fronted DC Universe. Sure, it could have been a lot better, but by no means is it the worst DC comic flick ever made - I’m looking at you Steel.

Costumes Make the Hero – The costume design duo Kurt and Bart give audiences a showcase of the most exciting costumes in the film, including Black Adam, Hawkman, Dr. When the villain shows up I knew it was the villain and it was a painfully long wait well into the second act before he revealed his true identity - that we already knew about because we saw the opening of the movie. Rear surrounds are always active and the height channels seemed to be a lot more playful in this one than others. The Dolby Atmos track (found on both the Blu-ray and the 4K UHD disc) is a killer track, almost on par with the picture perfect image quality. You’d figure with all the movies I watch, I’d be used to a good-sounding track and wouldn’t react like that.The Dolby Vision HDR grade is strong allowing for deep inky blacks with amazing spectral highlights.

Aldis is on point for the overly serious Hawkman, and Pierce Brosnan needs to be charged with a crime as he literally stole every scene he is in as Dr. In the US, the film will also become available at no extra on HBO Max, a streaming service that includes shows and films from DC, HBO, Universal Pictures, WarnerBros and others – although a date hasn’t been announced yet. in an effort to bring back Henry Cavill for another would-be hero vs hero beat’em up smash-fest involving the Man of Steel. This two-disc release ships in a dual-hubbed keepcase with plain-wrap cover artwork and a Digital Copy redemption code.

Sure, the film would feel better if it was made in the 1990s (the film even opens up with 1990s “Smashing Pumpkins” tracks) and is most CERTAINLY just a film for The Rock to act like The Rock, but it’s actually rather entertaining on a base level. However, the Intergang is still looking for the Crown of Sabbac, and the Justice Society must team up with Teth-Adam to stop the Intergang from obtaining the Crown. However, the theater isn't the only place fans will watch Teth-Adam kill his enemies without remorse. Step inside the tomb and learn why Black Adam’s “birth” was such an important sequence and how it sets the tone for the antihero’s personality. There’s nothing wrong with the Atmos track ala Disney, buuuuut, I noticed we had to do some level matching to get to reference by a good 8 DB’s by my receiver’s count.
