About this deal
Exposure latitude is essentially how much a picture can be under or overexposed while retaining as much information as possible. Even in these early days I knew I liked the film, and though I knew not why at this early stage of my photo geekery, it helped me make nicer pictures than the other types I’d used. With a box speed of ISO 1600, the easy answer is to use it wherever there is low light, or you have a really slow lens, or both.
FUJIFILM Superia X-TRA 400 - The Darkroom Photo Lab
In previous generations of processless, handling without care could sometimes damage the coatings, but Superia ZD is less sensitive to scratching.General purpose daylight type ISO 400 color negative film that incorporated the 4th Color Layer and fine grain (Sigma) technology from Pro line of films and later revisions (2003) incorporated the improved 'Super' Fine-Σ (Sigma) Grain Technology (Code CH). Now, once again, I’ve only got on picture with someone in it and it’s not the best picture to show skin tones with. Find one you like and use it constantly until you know it like the back of your hand and how it will react to light. I came into film photography thinking that I’d get some quirky, old-school looking images that I’d enjoy for a moment or two. Physical robustness is not the only strength of Superia ZD, it also has excellent solvent resistance so can be used with conventional and new generation UV inks.
Lomopedia: Fuji Superia X-TRA 400 · Lomography
Compare from the old plates to the new plates, we’re roughly saving about three to 4,000 wastes on make-ready.I really really want to like Superia 400, on paper it sounds such an ideal film, and shots like the one of the dog above are absolutely lovely. Japanese market variant of Superia X-tra 400 consumer film launched in 2009 with improved exposure latitude and optimised for reproduction of Japanese skin tones. The rest of the exposures from those first few rolls of Superia exceeded every expectation I’d had for film photography, and launched dreams of infinite possibility within the medium.
