The author also opens a doorway into something that most people might rather not consider - who takes the children who have no one else? Those last 200 pages are gripping, but I just feel this book would have benefited from reducing the cyclical thoughts and spreading out the action over more pages. A brilliant, honest, raw look at what it really means to lose someone essential and make grudging peace with what is gained in the exchange.
