HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER) → 50 Acetates for the 50th

Creating a world where every young person can make, learn and earn in music, whatever their background or goal. When this planet especially today needed John God Lennon his music, caustic brilliant comments mean more than today than the corporate money shagging bankers, politicians, and ANALysts who have the charm of what flows through the sewers. I have a copy but the inner is a transparent poly sleeve with "Important Notice" EMI text - does this mean the printer inner is missing or that its release just never had one?The writing skills are still in a class of there own, compare it to the total non entities of now eg boy bands, hip hop just absolutely nothing nothing to at all phones fakers z rated ,Compared to politicians, bankers, modern day corporate cripples and yuppies what do they stand for absolutely nothing,to leave a lasting legacy. Yoko wanted that left in because it reflected the attitude of the times not only towards Yoko and what she had to deal with and work through, but how men most often treated women, and, frankly, still do. John composed the string arrangements to be relatively simple and confidently placed – sometimes strong, sometimes delicate. When I heard them, I was quite happy with what we had done, because they had been mixed in totally different ways, which complement each other really well.

George Harrison: electric guitar on ‘I Don’t Want to Be a Soldier Mama I Don’t Wanna Die Mama I Don’t Wanna Die,’ ‘Gimme Some Truth,’ ‘Oh My Love,’ and ‘How Do You Sleep? In the Quadrasonic Mixes, there are times when, literally, there is one thing equally coming out of all four speakers at once, which sounds like it’s coming out of all four speakers at once – there’s no focus at the centre. The sound would be coming out pretty much like a U-shape – and you’d be sitting in the middle of the U, with some ambience behind you, but not a total surround. The remaining documentary footage was also later edited to become the Grammy® Award Winning documentary ‘Gimme Some Truth’ (The Making of the Imagine album). Inner sleeve has credits in a spiral, with artist photos; flipside has lyrics in a 'starburst' style, printed black on non-punched, unlined white paper. In short, Yoko courageously provides us with a gift that is exceptionally generous of spirit: we are allowed to witness John as a full and extraordinary human being. As I have always been interested in those kinds of progressive things to do with sound reproduction, I wanted to create a mix where you could actually feel you were in the studio. For example the feedback at the end of ‘I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier Mama I Don’t Wanna Die’ sounds totally different. You will hear some ideas being tried out and then abandoned – for example, the instrumentation on ‘Imagine’; the challenges posed by some of John’s quirky rhythms, as during the session for ‘How? As founder and leader of The Beatles and also as a solo artist, Lennon has won seven GRAMMY® Awards, including two Lifetime Achievement Awards, Five BRIT Awards including two Special Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Music, 21 NME Awards, 15 Ivor Novellos and an Oscar (Academy Award).

George Harrison (electric guitar), Ted Turner and Rod Lynton (twelve-string acoustic guitars), Ivan Sharrock (film crew sound recordist), Klaus Voormann (bass), Alan White (drums), John Lennon (electric guitar and vocals), Nicky Hopkins (Wurlitzer electric piano), John Tout (upright piano); Ascot Sound Studios, 26 May 1971. Phil Spector generally tended to record instruments directly onto the tape with all the reverb effects included (as was the case with George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass album). Each montage chronicles how a song developed from its embryonic form and then evolved as it was recorded in the studio. In the new Ultimate Remixes, the strings are mixed in surround sound or in stereo – which also helps retain the focus on John. This version relies heavily on John’s repetitive piano riff (eventually covered over by the choir) with strong vocals from John and sax by Bobby Keys. Any echo or effects that are heard were recorded onto spare tracks on the multitrack tapes during the sessions and so are exactly what the musicians would have heard in their headphones on the day of recording.
