My son and I have long been fans of Rob Biddulph’s picture books so I was really excited to learn that he had written a middle grade book and delighted to get my hands on an advance copy.His third, Odd Dog Out, was nominated for a total of eight literary prizes, winning the BSC Festival of Literature Picture Book Award and the UKLA Student Shadower’s Vote Book Award.

But there’s a world hidden behind a secret door filled with strange and wonderful things – a world Peanut unlocks with a pencil. was nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal and shortlisted for The People's Book Award and Oscar's Book Prize.It was great watching the relationship develop between Peanut and Rockwell – two fully realised characters who I’m in love with for very different reasons.
