Holding down your finger works somewhat to avoiding the beeps, but it takes the appliance a good few seconds to figure out what’s going on. Adding to that point, the Tower is easier to clean because it’s up on a countertop compared to an oven where you invariably need to stoop down to delve into the darkness with a squeegee.

An update of Tower’s previous T17039 5-in-1 Air Fryer, the 10-in-1 model comes with a range of extra accessories. Hopefully Tower can help bolster its brand name a little with this latest release, the T17076 Xpress Pro Combo 10-in-1 Air Fryer as its credentials immediately got me interested. p>

The Tower Xpress Pro Combo 11 Litre 10-in-1 Digital Air Fryer Oven with Rotisserie is supplied with a standard 1 year manufacturer's warranty which can be extended by an additional 2 years when you register the product online. When it came to the baking function, we felt it performed much like a conventional oven – although we did note an even rise on our cakes presumably as a result of the more consistent airflow. That’s a minor gripe though, because aside from that this is an appliance that does lots of things really well. While each of these are nice extras to have, they wouldn’t be standout enough features for us to use them very regularly. I’m slightly less convinced about the Tower’s ability to air fry chips – it does the job brilliantly, with ready-to-serve fries emerging in around 20 minutes depending on how you like ‘em. You can manually programme the machine using the digital keypad, but there are automated settings for the most popular dishes which we could do with just the touch of a button.
