I chose this book for its mystery/thriller potential and hadn't realized it was so heavy on the horror/apocalypse side of things. To enjoy the novel fully you need to embrace the crime/horror narrative, sit back and enjoy the disturbing but enjoyable ride. There are a few things that weren't completely explained in the end, but overall this is a not-to-be-missed thriller that will keep you up at night.
