Miles had been my protector when we were kids, but then our parents divorced and something in him changed in high school. I was disappointed to see the book end on a cliffhanger, but at the same time I cannot wait to read the second book to see what happens between them! One would think that the second book would deal with another couple, but we haven't come to a checkpoint or resting point with the first. and don’t even get me started on abigail’s chapters… they added nothing to the book and were completely unnecessary… and she’s not even a big character like i get she’s supposed to be friends with shelby but that relationship never developed.

The development of the relationship doesn’t seem very realistic at all and the ending doesn’t feel like an end. there was zero character development and we never learned anything substantial about any of the characters. All things aside, the fact that this was about a step sister-step brother “falling in love” is weird and gross. His warm skin shocked my fingertips, and I blinked and pulled my hand back, cursing myself for doing that. This story was captivating and got me hooked There is still so much to learn and discover about these couples and their life, I don’t know how to wait until 2023 for the next episode hahaha….

I hope Abigail will find love in one of the two guys that she’s interested in and the Miles won’t give up on Shelby and choose her an show her what love is like and she can lean on her to heal and not be the broken girl who’s use to !Then there is the alternating POV that switches between Shelby (MC), Miles (single dad) and Abigail (supposedly new bff of MC) almost every chapter. It’s not even a cliffhanger the story just moves onto a second book that should just be a part of this one. This was a hard one, I’ve read this one twice now thinking I missed some things the first go but no. She also made it seem like there was going to be this huge connection between Shelby and Belle, when she literally only babysat her like once, yet in the middle of the book she's saying she loves her more than anything and will do anything for her after knowing her for mere days.

Listen, I know my grandmother meant a lot to you, but let’s not pretend that there’s anything left for me here. So instead of feeling like a fully fledged backstory, it seems like a bunch of things were made up to make her interesting. I’d spent most of my three days here giving short answers and keeping to myself in the only motel in town.She's one of the only residents who doesn't know about my past and seems to be looking for the same thing I am, a place to belong This story is told through 3 different points of view. And there was something about the way he insisted on being protective if me that made my whole body feel light.

Not gonna lie but the fact that he was kinda of her ex-stepbrother made things a bit weird but i loved the way he cared about her and the way his love was truly pure that he didn't force it on her, but that ending oh man! I loved the fact the author wrote the story about About Miles an the love he has for his daughter, and the patients he has for the love of his life and made sure to tell her he will be there for her when she is ready to leave the bad in the pass and to finally be happy ! He didn’t say much else as he put the car into drive and took off down the small, one-lane road that led to Main Street. And she goes from wanting to have nothing to do with Miles to wanting to be his wife in too little time.

I could see in his body language that he wanted to say something more, and I had a sinking suspicion as to what that was.
