We reviewed the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Maverick on an LG 55B7 Dolby Vision 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with a Panasonic DP-UB820EB-K Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Even more impressively though, he was prepared to bring his acting A-game too, coming absolute full circle following a career of experience as both an actor and an action star to make an all-round far better Top Gun sequel than anybody could have ever expected, far better than we would have got had they turned one around in the late 80s. Where Scott found trouble managing things like the sun-kissed opening sequences, having to pay off the aircraft carrier's captain to turn the ship, Kozinski's DOP would find this process much smoother, with a captain prepared to go that extra mile to get the right lighting, just because the original movie highlighted what everybody was aiming for.
