So I was pleased to see that the Xbox One controller I was testing with this Wingman XB2 adapter worked absolutely perfectly with the Xbox 360. Well, you program any button (or all of them, should that be your bag) to have a turbo function enabled.Brook's chameleon mascot is proudly displayed, and it feels well made and has a tight USB connection when inserted into my Series X USB port.

I tried an Xbox 360 controller, a Switch Pro controller as well as a PS4 and PS5 controller on my Series X, and all worked to play games relatively easily. Another useful feature I noticed is that it works great on Linux as well as Windows and the supported Xbox consoles. The other remarkable feature that sets it apart is being able to use the Xbox 360 controllers on newer consoles. This tightness loosens over time but be careful if you have the adapter directly plugged into the console if you’re going to be removing the controller cable from the adapter as it will easily yank or add pressure to the console USB port. This means you have to have it stick out in front of your Xbox, and if you have something like a Series X there's a limited amount of ports in the front to use.Wingman XB supports most of the accessories that are compatible with original factory specifications. I will sometimes switch controllers between games, or even switch just to relieve pain points in my aging hands just so I can keep playing.

I've since learned that these adapters are highly popular amongst the fighting game community, which are perhaps one of the most vocal communities when it comes to input latency. The good news here is that you can use the original Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers on your Series console, as well as PlayStation (PS3, PS4 and PS5) and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers. More games are coming to Xbox, and Microsoft has done a great job of encouraging developers to bring more there. My friends and I used to love them (well, I got slaughtered so I mostly watched), and I know they would appreciate being able to play these again.Yet, this device only allows one controller to connect to this wireless adaptor when connected to my Xbox.

Huge thanks go out to Brook Designs for provisioning us with a review unit of the Wingman XB2 Controller Cross-Platform Converter.The inexplicably extravagant design of the Wingman XE will most likely lead you to hide it on a USB-port on the backside of your console. Once the male end is inserted (stop sniggering at the back), the controller of your preference can be attached with a USB lead to the other end and away you go.
