About this deal

The water for the Tenth Muse comes from an aquafer at Jupiter Artland, the sculpture park on the Bonnington estate creating another link from the vodka to its creator. By only using the finest British ingredients, we are able to produce X MUSE in batches of consistent quality but with subtle differences in organoleptic profile, embracing the variety of nature. The bottle pays homage to the Charles Jencks’ Cells of Life – the monumental land art that frames the aquifer from which the spring water for the vodka is drawn which also sits at Jupiter Artland Estate. This part of the process takes inspiration from another artwork at Jupiter Artland, Anya Gallaccio’s “The Light Pours Out of Me”.

Vadim: We have also created a new Amethyst Martini in honour of our shared connection to the crystals, which in addition to the name of his restaurant, is also Carlo’s birthstone. If you would like to try this stunning vodka for yourself, you can find all the information you need below. We spent more than three years perfecting the taste of X MUSE with a view to starting a little revolution. We strongly believe in creating an ambitious vodka that is inviting, delicious for sipping and savouring every drop,” says Vadim Grigoryan, X MUSE co-founder.Each parcel is individually vinified before being blended then re-co-fermented,” said Lowe, “effectively emulating the traditional method for sparkling wines and harnessing the transformative power of fermentation. The dish was conceived as a perfect savoury pairing to accompany sipping the vodka neat or with the X MUSE signature martini. Vadim: During this fateful encounter, Robert mentioned he was looking for another use for the precious water source beneath an ancient aquifer at Jupiter Artland, which inspired American cultural theorist and landscape designer Charles Jencks to create Cells of Life – eight site-specific landforms that form the park’s utopian centrepiece.

Today I try to express in words what I feel olfactorily almost any time I drink a glass of wine or a spirit. The distinct flavour profile invites both sipping and savouring – lending itself as an inspirational launchpad for both creative and classic serves –whether that’s neat, on the rocks or as a twist on the classic martini. Harriet Lloyd-Smith was the Arts Editor of Wallpaper*, responsible for the art pages across digital and print, including profiles, exhibition reviews, and contemporary art collaborations. The vodka is created using two heritage varieties of barley, which are separately distilled before being combined with water drawn from an ancient aquifier at the heart of Jupiter Artland. We as brand owners, and we as consumers, all have a joint responsibility to be careful in the way we impact the future of the planet.Hand-painted, hand-foiled, and individually numbered, this takes inspiration from the work of Anglo-Argentinian artist, Pablo Bronstein, whose “Rose Walk” installation, housed at the estate, places two ten-metre-high follies in a “stand-off”, said the self-confessed “die-hard Jewish Atheist”.

A new luxury spirit for the discerning drinker, XMUSE, pronounced ‘tenth muse’, is the brainchild offormer Pernod Ricard Senior Marketer Vadim Grigoryan and co-creator ofEdinburgh’s sculpture park Jupiter Artland, Robert Wilson. With X Muse, we have involved collaborators of the highest artistic quality, who fully understand the importance of detail, design and creativity,’ says Wilson. The story of X Muse begins in an ancient aquifer, an underground layer of rock that holds groundwater, beneath the Jupiter Artland sculpture park near Edinburgh. While vodka does, in fact, freeze, the temperature will need to fall to -23 oC for it to do so - way beyond the capabilities of the average kitchen fridge. This careful orchestration of barleys, prized for their taste, creates a smooth and complex flavour. The brand’s name is drawn from an artwork by Scottish poet, artist and gardener Ian Hamilton Finlay.
