My class of 5 year olds absolutely loved ‘The Barnabus Project’ (and I loved engaging with a story that was emotionally moving) so had to try something else by the Fan Brothers. A lovely picture book that celebrates familial bonds, as a boy honors the memory of his grandfather by constructing a boat: one he will journey on to where the ocean meets sky, based on tales his grandfather told. The Fan Brothers are significant, award-winning author-illustrators and children can continue to enjoy their books following their studies of this text. So I thought it was nice and comforting that Finn could travel to an amazing, fantastical place his grandfather told him about to tell him goodbye.

Every time he looks out his window it's a constant reminder of the stories his grandfather told him about the place where the ocean meets the sky. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic!The artwork here is breathtakingly beautiful, and there are multiple two-page spreads I would happily hang on my wall, if they were available as prints or posters.
