Out of the 12 shades there are 7 mattes, 3 shimmers, one matte with glitter and one glitter shade. As you can see the palette is very much a gold/ orange/ brown toned palette. Not as red as Urban Decay’s Naked Heat and not as orange as a Morphe 35O. The shades are a bit more wearable and neutral, which is why this is quite possibly one of the best warm toned palettes out there. The Swatches As I mentioned in my Pixi palette review, I have been using the same eye-primer routine when using this palette. Benefit’s Lemon aid followed by Urban Decay’s Primer Potion set with a powder matching my skintone. Using this routine I find that the shadows wear for around 6-7 hours before fading. I do notice that the shimmers are the first to go with the matte shades hanging in a little while longer before wearing away. I find this comparable to most of my other high-end palettes, so I’m pleased with the wear time. You can apply these methods with the color eyeshadow palette of your choice. For a natural look, you'll want to choose an eye shadow palette with neutral hues, and pair it with a toned down lip gloss lip liner. Use a nude eyeshadow that matches your skin tone. This color will make an excellent base for all over the lid. To add some definition, blend a slightly darker shade of pigmented eyeshadow makeup into your crease. Depending on how much definition you want, use a darker shade to line the lash line. A couple of shades are low on pigmentation, but like I said, this may be by design because they do serve more than one purpose in the palette.

After putting this palette to the test for a while now, I wanted to share with you a full run-down review and if I think its worth the spend. Pigmentation for most shades is really good. Two shades, Cashmere and Latet – part from being quite powdery, also sheer out quite easily which becomes a bit painful when being used on the lid, but work well when being used as a transition shade. Having said that, I am not sure that it is a miss from the lab/manufacturing perspective or it is by design. Meaning, are the shades low in pigmentation and easy to sheer out by accident or on purpose. Because the shades which have this concern have more than one use in the palette and the fact that they can sheer out actually works well for the palette. The shades blend well and mesh well with the other eye shadows without getting muddy, but it isn’t as effortless as say, the shadows from Natasha Denona or Viseart.

Urban Decay Heat Eyeshadow Palette launched a few short months ago and it definitely remains the warmest, richest, and most pigmented selection of fiery nudes around. It in fact might have you questioning of you need the Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette if you already own Heat. Latte: Described by the brand as a Tan. This is a light to medium brown with warm golden undertones and a matte finish. It is quite powdery – like Cashmere. It has good pigmentation. It can sheer out easily which is counter-productive if you are using it on the id – but great if you are using it as a transition shade.

I can't tell you which ones to buy because that's 100% up to you and your needs when it comes to makeup. Do you prefer an all matte neutral eyeshadow palette? A neutral palette with some shimmers? A palette with all warm tones? Or a palette with a focus on rosy shades with some neutrals and bronzes? answered already.
