I think MagicBands are even less essential at Disneyland because their functionality is more limited there. Because I go to both Disney coasts regularly, I do personally use a MagicBand+ at Disneyland. On a recent Disneyland trip with my whole family, however, my kids decided they would rather spend their souvenir budget on something else.
