I have previously expressed my displeasure with the execution of the last book in my review of Wonder Woman:Warbringer as the book felt dragged out and most of the plot happened at the end of the book, but this book was everything I hoped in terms of writing, plot, and characters. I've been soaking myself in Batman online fanfics for months and I swear to the BatGod that I'd read plenty of better written, closer-to-canon-fanfics with better-constructed characters, better-plotted romances and much deeper understanding to the characters' mentalities than this. Overall, this book was one of the most fun reads I’ve had in 2018, and I’m so happy I picked it up before Catwoman: Soulstealer, that comes out next month! I'd expected the same from this novel but instead many parts of the book were rather slow and nothing really surprised me at all.
