About this deal

You know of somaek, aka soju and beer, but here’s us introducing you to Cojinganmek, where Coca-Cola is introduced to somaek to make a merry trio. com is your learned drinking buddy who can tell you what to drink, what you’re drinking and where to drink.

Soju can be used to create milkshakes, mixed with fruit juice, or utilised as a substitute in various traditional cocktail recipes.

It got its start in the 13th century, when invading Mongols brought with them distillation techniques they themselves had learned in the Middle East and similar to those still used today to make single-malt scotch or cognac. Better known for its sakes, the Naru, Japan-based spirit company branched out into the soju market n 2011 after first appearing on the scene in 2004.

It may sound strange at first, but yoghurt soju cocktails that combine soju, Yakult and soft drinks are incredibly popular. In 1965, amid shortages of the staple of the Korean diet, the South Korean government passed a law that forbade rice in the making of soju, so soju makers switched to substitutes like barley, sweet potatoes, wheat and tapioca. If your jar was disinfected properly, your plums cleaned thoroughly and no moisture enters the jar, your plum wine can last for years in a cool and dark place, away from sunlight. Each brand has its own distinct flavour and style, and picking a favourite is frequently a matter of personal preference.Grapefruit combines wonderfully with the original soju flavour to create a fruity drink that leans more towards bitter than sweet, ideal for pairing with almost any dish! Instead, it's made by covering green plums with sugar and steeping in a distilled alcohol, usually shochu or soju. Though it's tempting to compare Korea's most famous alcoholic beverage to Japan's most famous alcoholic beverage, sake, that's a bit of an apples-to-oranges situation. While we like the near-invisibility of West 32's original bottle, we prefer its Reserve bottle that experiences an aging process in white American oak barrels and can be used in place of whiskey in cocktails like an Old Fashioned. The soju giant produces a handful of flavored soju products, including grapefruit, grape, strawberry, and plum, but it's the line of pure sojus that share space in our wine rack.

These cocktails can be served in various types of glasses, such as a martini glass or a highball glass. The original and best-selling bottle is distilled from rice, potato, and sweet potatoes and carries a 16.

Though it comes in a wide variety of flavors, such as melon and grapefruit, it’s traditionally served in a shot glass. Made entirely of rice, Good Day's soju also undergoes ten filtrations and a 72-hour long distillation process which includes the liquid's infusion with oxygen, resulting in a cleaner, clearer end-product. Since soju has such a neutral taste, it’s only really added to boost the alcohol content of the beer. It forced a lot of small brewers to close down, and the big conglomerates who could use barley or sweet potato or even imported tapioca to keep the costs down were the only ones to survive," Kim said. If you are unfamiliar with soju, it is a small cup that can be held with both hands, even though it lacks a handle.
